DCC workshop: CC and Open-Source Software Licenses for Researchers In-Person

In this workshop, you will learn more about licensing your scientific output. The content of the workshop is designed to help researchers get an overview about the most commonly used licenses by presenting and discussing the different Creative Commons (CC) licenses as well as open-source software licenses.
Topics that will be covered:
- Why you should license your work.
- What you should consider when choosing a license.
- The different Creative Commons licenses.
- Most commonly used open-source software licenses.
- Differences between permissive and copy-left software licenses.
Please note that this workshop is not intended as legal advice, but instead aims to give a general overview about the available and commonly used (open) licenses to give researchers a foundation to choose the correct license.
