Intended audience: University teachers, course coordinators, education specialists

Date & time: 28 November 2023, 10:00 - 12:30

Format: On-site workshop

Location: Heymans Building (BSS Faculty), room Hv. 0312

This workshop will introduce you to the concept of open pedagogy, an innovative teaching and learning approach that emphasizes the use and creation of open educational resources (OER) and revolves around actively involving students in the process of knowledge development. The benefits of this approach are manifold, as OER are learner-oriented, customizable, and accessible to all at no cost. Open pedagogy fosters collaboration between students and teachers, enabling them to co-create and share knowledge in a meaningful manner. By doing so, it helps create a vibrant community of learners and engenders impact that extends beyond the traditional boundaries of the classroom.

During this workshop, we will work alongside you and provide:

  • Information on the basic principles of open education, open educational resources, and copyright
  • Tips for finding and engaging with high-quality open educational resources
  • Hands-on activities and step-by-step instructions on how to implement open pedagogy in your classroom
  • Inspiring real-world examples of open pedagogy in action
  • Course redesign tools
  • Platform for discussions
