SUMMARY:Interactive webinar: Redesign\, enrich and transform your course with open educational resources
DESCRIPTION:Intended audience: University teachers and education
 specialists\n\n\n\nDate & time: 13 April 2021\, 10:00 - 12:30 (including a
 30-minute Q&A session)\n\nFormat: Interactive webinar\n\nPlatform:
Blackboard Collaborate\n\nThe subject of open educational resources (OER)
is becoming more prominent in higher education\, especially in times of
need to rapidly digitize courses and switch to online teaching and
learning. As an instrumental tool in reusing existing and creating
innovative learner-centered resources\, OER are an interesting area to
explore for UG teachers.\n\nWould you like to try new and interesting
things in your teaching? Do you need some inspiration\, practical tools and
support with redesigning your courses\, making them more open and
up-to-date?\n\nOn 13 April 2021\, information specialists from the
University of Groningen Library and didactic experts from Education Support
& Innovation will host a webinar focused on helping you redesign and enrich
your course (in whole or in part) with open materials.\n\n\n\nDuring this
interactive webinar\, we will work alongside you and
provide:\n\n\n	Didactic advice\n	Expertise in the area of open education
and copyright\n	Tips for finding high-quality open educational
resources\n	Help with exploring all the cool things that can be done with
reusable and open materials\n	Course redesign tools\n	Platform for
 discussions\n	Inspiration\n\n\nYour participation won’t just benefit your
own course and development – you will also help us better understand your
needs\, so we can work on developing new services and infrastructure to
make your teaching life easier.\n\nLearning Outcomes\n\nAfter completing
this workshop\, you will be able to:\n\n\n	Understand how to use OER\,
basics of the copyright and open licenses\n	Search strategically for and
evaluate OER most relevant to your subject area\n	Design appropriate
teaching and learning activities using OER\n\n\nPreparation\n\nIn
preparation for the webinar\, we would like to invite you to complete an
optional home exercise. We will ask you to share some information about
your course and to think about a course element that you would like to
redesign by using open educational resources. This assignment will require
up to 1 hour of your time and is to be submitted 2 weeks before the
webinar. This exercise will be useful for both familiarizing yourselves
with open educational resources and getting inspired to (re)design your
existing and upcoming courses. Based on your assignment and needs\, we will
gladly provide you with individual feedback and
 help.\n\nLanguage\n\nEnglish\n\nWebinar information\n\nRegistered
participants will receive the webinar link by email before the start of the
event. The webinar will be recorded and all registered participants will
receive a link to the recording.\n\nFor any inquiries or questions
regarding the webinar\, please feel free to contact the Education Support
 team at oer-library@rug.nl.
