Seat Availability

From 15 January to 4 February the University Library City Centre is only accessible for students and staff of the University of Groningen.

How to reserve a study place

  • Study places can only be reserved up to 4 days in the future.

  • There is a maximum of 25 hours per week you can book. Please note: the week starts here on Sunday!

  • You can reserve a specific study place.  

  • Scroll through the list to choose which seat on which floor you would like to reserve. 

  • On the floorplan you can see in which areas the seats in the reading rooms are located. (The studios are not yet indicated on these floorplans.)

  • Click to set the start time, then choose the end time from the pull-down menu below the chart.

Once you have made your reservation, you will receive a confirmation email.

  • It is mandatory to wear a face mask in all University buildings when moving through the building.

  • Upon entering the UB City Centre, you must disinfect your hands with the disinfection gel present.

  •  If you have a reservation for a studio, please pick up the key at the reception desk.

  • Walk the indicated route to your reserved study place; present your student card at the access gates.

  • When you arrive at your study place, check in yourself: scan the QR code on your table and enter the code from your confirmation email. Please note: If you haven't checked in 30 minutes after the start time, your reservation will automatically expire.

  • Finished early? Check out and make space for a fellow student.

  • Printing in the UB is not possible for the time being.

  • For the time being, you may bring water/tea/coffee to the reading rooms. Please dispose of your trash properly.
